FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1985....

I made a conscience decision this Christmas.
The decision was to not watch "A Christmas Story". It was a bold move I know but I felt it needed to be done. Yes I know what you are thinking, don't turn on the TV Eddie, bam its that easy. No it is not! I travel during the Holidays and am subject to the viewing whims of other people. Due to this fact my journey was not a total success. At the end of my adventure I had watched about one and a half minutes of my 2007 Christmas nemesis.
Next year I am taking on Rudolph and Frosty. A feat that has not been attempted since 1974 and led to, as you know, six deaths in Kentucky.

An Open Letter to Scientist Worldwide....

As I read the paper and watch the news I see that "you scientist" are discovering new and exciting things everyday. Don't get me wrong, I commend you on your efforts but it has become painfully obvious that you are all on the wrong track. If you were doing your jobs as well as you should then you would have discovered, if only by accident the greatest thing that could ever be created.

I know that 24.823% of all scientific discoveries come as a by-product of the intended experiments but these mistakes can be remarkable.
* Viagra
*Penicillin
*The Microwave Oven
*Silly Puddy
*LSD
Need I say anymore!

Science needs to branch out into more extreme experimentation. I do not care if it is intended or purely accidental but would someone one please start a Zombie epidemic.

Please try to go by the following guidelines as much as possible.

  1. They must be slow moving.
  2. They must go on instinct alone "need brains".
  3. They cannot collaborate with other Zombies or be able to learn new things.
  4. They must be killed only through severe head trauma.
  5. The Zombie can only infect a non-Zombie by way of a bite.
  6. They must have sub-human strength.
  7. Glazed eyes would be preferable.
  8. Inability to speak, moaning is acceptable.
  9. The epidemic can only be transferred to humans.
  10. Lastly they should die from starvation or thirst as any human would.
My household has a Zombie epidemic plan. We are prepared and will survive this horrible "awesome" experience unscathed. Every morning I wake up saddened by the fact that I have yet to battle Zombies. I plead with you, Scientist of the world, to make this a reality.

Thank You,
Edward Morrow

Action Films Vs. Adventure Films....

An action films generally involves a moral interplay between "good" and "bad" played out through violence or physical force. Popular sub genres are often; the buddy cop movie, or the heist/caper movie. Action films usually have higher death counts and are more graphic. The deaths usually involve established characters.

Some popular action movies are:
*Die Hard
*Beverly Hills Cop
*Miami Vice
*Bad Boys
*Mission Impossible

An adventure film generally involves danger, risk, and/or chance, often with a high degree of fantasy.
A lot of adventure movies usually take place in an undetermined period of time.
Sci Fi and fantasy films can often be sub genres of the adventure film. In adventure films such as Lord of the Rings the death counts can also be high but involve characters in which no name of face is of any importance.

Some popular adventure movies are:
*Indiana Jones
*Pirates of the Caribbean
*Star Wars
*Robin Hood
*The Mummy

Special Edition DVDs are a lie..

The DaVinci Code comes out November 14th and I cannot wait to see it. The Movie is coming out as a Special Edition 2 disc set, and I think its crap. How can a DVD come out, as many do, as a Special Edition if it is in fact to only edition. The only thing special about it at the point of release will be that it has been released. My rule of thumb is, if it is the only edition, it can't be a special edition. So listen here DaVinci Code, you are not as special as you think you are.

BATMAN BEGINS

Since Batman's resurrection as a major-motion-picture in 1989, the capped crusader origin has been largely unexplored. Enter Batman Begins. Avoiding the campiness of Batman films past, this epic follows angry and confused billionaire Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) from his parents death to League of Shadows combat training in Asia and back to Gotham City. Lined with dry humor, the film addresses questions of corporate greed, the vulnerability of the world's biggest city and why Bruce Wayne would take on the persona of a crime fighting bat in the first place. The borderline, all-star cast is fantastic, most notable being Gotham City herself. Director Christopher Nolan has darkly and masterfully set up the ground work for new franchise.

THE DUKES OF HAZZARD.

SO I SAW "THE DUKES OF HAZZARD" THIS WEEKEND AND I JUST DON'T GET IT. WHY DO PEOPLE INSIST THAT A MOVIE HAS TO BE IN CONTENTION FOR AN ACADEMY AWARD OR AN OSCAR TO BE CONSIDERED A GOOD MOVIE. I THOUGHT "DUKES" WAS VERY ENTERTAINING. " DUKES" WAS SIMPLY AN AMUSING MOVIE. IT WAS FUNNY, HAD SOME GOOD CHASE SCENES, AND LAST BUT NO LEAST IT HAD SOME GOOD EYE CANDY FOR THE GUYS AND GALS SO WHAT'S THE PROBLEM. WAS "NATIONAL LAMPOONS CHRISTMAS VACATION" A CINEMATIC MASTER PIECE? NOT BY A LONG SHOT. HOW ABOUT "OLD SCHOOL". NOPE , BUT IT WAS ENTERTAINING. GO SEE "THE DUKES OF HAZZARD" IT MIGHT NOT TUG AT YOUR HEART STRINGS, YOU MAY NOT RELATE TO THE STRIFE BO AND LUKE ENDURE BUT YOU WILL LAUGH, AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS. IF YOU CAN'T SEE YOURSELF PAYING $8 TO SEE IT, CHECK IT OUT ON TBS IN A YEAR OR TWO. IT WILL BE PLAYING ALL WEEK.
